Many people cannot resist any store that says OLD BOOKS. Books represent the encased thoughts and imagination of a thousand generations of people like us. Bookstores were the place where their feelings, thoughts, observations, learning, knowledge, and wisdom mingled with our own... and were taken home to be savored at leisure. I miss the kinds of conversations that used to take place in book stores. I want to have similar conversations again.
LEARY'S BOOKS IN THE ALLEY:
For most of the time that there were books displayed in the Alley on the Gimbels Side of Leary's they were a separate business. Sort of a franchise that was granted to one guy.
If anybody knows the name of that fellow I'd be grateful to learn it.
